i asked this q in another thread but thought the question might fit in better over here in bible research .
thinking out loud again.
it doesn't seem to matter what bible you read, unless you're looking for discrepancies in translation it's not easy to just abandon the big picture.
If one was to believe that the bible is a metaphor they would have no clue what restoration means. However, if you take it all literally, except where a literal interpretation is not possible, you would come to the conclusion that God will restore repentant mankind spiritually (refering to being forgiven, sinless & in a relationship with him again) and also physically (new heavens and new earth Rev 21, the Lion & wolf lying down together Isaiah 11) during the 1000 year reign of Christ.
Also, read Romans 8:18-23. It talks about all of creation groaning for restoration.
I don't know if this is what you were looking for or not.

we have a great personal testimony by alex demayo on our site.
the watchtower drove him to the point of seeing a psychologist and almost drove him insane.
he tells his story about his 18 years in the organization.
Hi Everyone,
We have a great personal testimony by Alex DeMayo on our site. The Watchtower drove him to the point of seeing a psychologist and almost drove him insane. He tells his story about his 18 years in the Organization. You can read his testimony here: http://www.towertotruth.net/AlexTestimony.html Or, you can listen to his testimony on our audio files page. I hope you like it.

i thought after you read the mormon jokes that you might want to hear what the lds church really is all about.
we have an audio from walter martin called, "the maze of mormonism".
hope you like!
S Pantz,
Very noble of you. Leading people astray spiritually is deadly. I wouldn't want to answer for that either. But you were relying on an organization to interpret the bible for you. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit to us as individuals to guide us into all truth. We don't need an organization to interpret it for us.
I don't think religion ever did anyone any good either. Christianity is not a religion, it's a relationship. Religion is man's attempt to reach God. Christianity is God's attempt to reach man. Jn 3:16

God's will for the KKK is the same as it is for all - Repent 2 Peter 3:9
The KKK, like the Watchtower, has created God in their own image. How convenient.

Stinky Pantz,
You're right. God gave us a free will to choose to follow him or to do our own thing. If you became sure there was a God, would you submit to Him?

I am not actually recommending that you or anyone join the Mormon Church. It is a cult just like the Watchtower is. I thought some people might want to hear about their heretical teachings. It's pretty mind-blowing.
By the way, Stinky Pantz, never say never! God might just have plans for you.
In Love,

i swallowed and believed such much shit when i was a jw that i have a few more questions to ask anyone who has the answers.
the 144,000 is a big gripe of mine........ right, i was told that the 144,000 found out they were one of the anointed when they had a flash of "revelation" at some point and truly believed it or they had known since they were a child.
what a load of shit!
A couple of things to think about regarding the 144,000.
1) If the WT is right, How can a FIGURATIVE number of 12,000, each from 12 FIGURATIVE tribes of Israel add up to a LITERAL 144,00?
2) If the WT is right, why would Jehovah want 144,000 who by and large believed pagan doctrine while on earth, to rule & reign in heaven? For instance, most of the 144,000 believed Jesus died on a cross, returned in 1874, was not Michael the Archangel, they were taught to worship Jesus. They voted, smoked, took part in government, celebrated birthdays and Christmas. Were allowed to get transfusions, etc, etc,
Why wouldn't Jehovah wait till the end and pick the 144,000 out who had the most pure doctrine?
